Great place for friends and family to hang out. Public fields and track for the weekends and well kept grass. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is due to the general look of the inside of the facility, not very clean and has a massive smell of chloride from the pool. But besides that they have good deals on memberships and fair prices.
Been a member since 2012 and the only upgrades they have made is to the locker rooms, showers and new carpet in gym area. Other than the overall size of this facility is too small for the amount of members. This YMCA needs an overall major upgrade. Parking gets impossible during afternoon weekdays when children's sports are going on. If something breaks like the sauna, steam room or the spa you literally have to wait weeks to months for it to get fixed. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is great, also.
What a shame they have let this location get so bad. I guess they don't have a maintenance staff at this location. Steam room is a joke, whirlpool doesn't work properly, jets don't work and more. I have never seem a member of management at this location. This is the supposed to be the newest Y built but it doesn't look like it. This place was perfect a few years ago when it was newer, now I guess management just doesn't care anymore. Pity, at one time this was a showplace. AND, is it policy for teenage boys to be allowed in the women's lockerrooms????
The Pros: The staff has always been friendly and helpful, There are an abundance of classes for different fitness levels free with membership, It's a great value for large families, Free childcare, Pool and spa area. The Cons: THE FACILITY NEEDS UPDATING IN A BAD WAY!!!, the locker rooms are carpeted and they smell like urine, there are drop ceilings and mildew and mold in locker and shower areas, the showers have broken and missing tiles, The facility is usually crowded, Cardio and weight lifting equipment crowded into the same room, Childcare is often overcrowded which makes child safety a concern, The hours are limited over the weekend making it inconvenient for families.
The facility is small and there are too many members. The classes and class instructors are nice and courteous though. Child watch isn't the best ... It depends on who's there to watch your child because some adults get overwhelmed with supervising a 2 year old and come off as "bitchy" towards the parent, which isn't received well. Other than that, there were no other issues experienced during my membership there with them.
